Part of Connect Alaska's State Broadband Initiative included the work of the Association of Alaska School Boards Consortium for Digital Learning. During 2013-2015, the AASB Consortium for Digital Learning conducted 120 Broadband Strategies workshops, meetings, and training seminars in twelve geographically diverse Alaska communities that reached over 1,000 attendees. Many of these locations required air travel in small planes, many times in sub-zero weather, landing on gravel runways.
