Teaching Northern Michigan Students About the Hazards of Texting While Driving

Driving in Northern Michigan can be quite challenging during this time of the year. Weather and terrain hazards can cause injuries to mount up.

This month, Roscommon High School held a special driver safety program using texting and driving simulations to teach young drivers about the hazards of texting while driving.

Below is an excerpt from a article on this development:

"It is a concern," said Ron Alden, Roscommon High School principal. "Every year, you get a little better at it but it's always an adjustment."

With around 3,000 deaths in the United States each year due to distracted driving, Roscommon High School's principal says there's reason for concern.
