No Normal Day

By Connected Nation

There is no “normal day” in Chicago, our nation’s third-largest city, according to Alicia Tate-Nadeau, Executive Director for Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

With a population of about 2.7 million people—and growing—Chicago has significant transportation and critical infrastructure, and hosts about 80 major, planned events each week.

That means Chicago’s first responders need dedicated broadband to communicate and do their jobs.

“If you talked to the majority of the public, they think we already have [dedicated broadband],” Tate-Nadeau says in this video.

First responders need the dedicated, priority broadband access that FirstNet will bring because “the more we’re able to integrate and work things faster, the better we can provide safety and security to our citizens.”
