Motivating Michigan Students To Pursue STEM Careers

Getting Michigan students interested in pursuing a STEM career can pose quite a challenge. But some state educational institutions are being highlighted for their benchmark approaches to meeting this challenge.

The University of Michigan, Michigan State, and Michigan Tech are three universities that, according to experts, are making strides in generating interest in STEM careers.

Below is an excerpt from a Michigan News article on this subject:

Researchers said the state’s universities and high schools could do more to know what options await STEM graduates upon graduation.

It could mean telling students about job and internship opportunities that are on the horizon, including details on all professions ­ not just the more obvious engineering and science fields ­that most students are already aware of.
