Harbor Springs Set to Launch Technology Action Plan
For the past year, Harbor Inc. has participated in Connect Michigan’s Connected Community Engagement Program to boost the local economy and quality of life for residents through increased access, adoption, and use of broadband.
On Thursday, the Harbor Springs community is launching an action to achieve those goals.
The Technology Action Plan sets community-wide broadband connectivity goals that will support economic development and improved residential quality of life and includes step-by-step action items to make sure that the goals are met. The plan will also support future broadband expansion and programs that will ensure the community maintains widespread Internet access, adoption, and use.
Below is an excerpt from a Petoskey News article on this development:
To create the action plan, HARBOR, Inc., worked with Connect Michigan, a group devoted to increasing the high-speed broadband access throughout Michigan as well as team of representatives from the community, including those from township governments, schools and community members.
“Broadband access is a common problem,” said Rachel Smolinski, executive director of HARBOR, Inc. “It’s a regional issue, so we thought, why not take a regional approach to it?”
We congratulate the community on making it to this milestone. Momentum is now on their side with this new plan in place.
