Access Alcona teamed up with Connect Michigan to bring residents, county commissioners, business owners, librarians, and educators together Tuesday night to gain a greater understanding of the value of broadband access and the barriers to its development in Alcona’s lightly populated rural interior. Over 100 attendees participated in this Connected Community event. Moving to the cloud is the state’s game plan for making historical records more accessible to the public. Using this technology eliminates the need for traveling to the Archives’ facility in Lansing to access digital records.
