WiMAX Brings Needed Internet Functionality to Houghton

Northern Michigan University students will soon have new options for broadband access. Northern Michigan University has partnered with BB Telsys, a Grand Rapids telecommunications company, to bring WiMAX to the Houghton community. WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a communication technology for wirelessly delivering high-speed Internet service to large geographical areas.
