One Year Later, Dozens of Communities Connected

This month marks one year since Charlevoix County, MI became the first Connected certified community in the country. We’ve commemorated the event in style by celebrating the country’s ninth Connected community – Van Wert County, OH. A rural county located on the southern edge of northwest Ohio’s rich agricultural region, Van Wert County has a large number of residents employed in the agricultural industry, and while the cost of living is low, the county has lost more than 5% of its population since 1990. Otsego County Launches Connected Community Kick-Off Meeting

Otsego County recently held a kick-off meeting to set in motion their participation in Connect Michigan’s Connected Community Engagement Program. Approximately 20 community members attended the meeting that was held July 30 in the University Center at Gaylord. Tom Stephenson, community technology advisor for Connect Michigan, gave a presentation about the program and provided an overview of the access, adoption and use of broadband in the county. St. Clair County Becomes a Certified Connected Community

St. Clair County, Michigan is now officially a certified Connected community. The county became the sixth community in the nation to achieve certification under Connected Nation’s Connected Community Engagement Program.
